- Always turn off extra lights and fans.
- Use LED lamps instead of conventional lamps.
- Use minimal electricity between 6 p.m. and 10 p.m.
- Minimize the use of electric heaters, air conditioners, water pumps, microwave ovens, and washing machines.

Consumers’ Safety Guidelines By HESCO
In today’s world, electricity is an essential part of our daily lives. However, it is important to remember that if not used carefully, electricity can pose a danger to us. Even a small mistake can result in a tragic accident.
That’s why it’s important to follow safety guidelines to prevent any potential hazards. HESCO has issued important safety measures that should be observed to ensure the safe use of electricity.
- If you notice a power line lying on the ground, report it immediately to the nearest complaint center for safety reasons. You can also call the HESCO helpline at 03372192751, 03372192752, or 03372192753.
- Avoid using power cables for hanging clothes.
- Never tie animals to electricity poles.
- Use quality cables for electrical wiring
- The open wires or joints should be repaired immediately.
- If a person gets entangled with electricity, a dry wooden rod, dry cloth, plastic, or rubber stick should be used to get him free.
- Do not touch any electrical appliances if your hands or clothes are wet.
Hesco Peak Hours
To reduce your electricity bill and stabilize the electric supply for the entire region, Hyderabad Electric Supply Company recommends minimizing electricity consumption during peak hours. From April to October, 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM are considered peak hours, and from November to March, 6 PM to 10 PM are considered peak hours.
The following are the designated HESCO peak hours:
April to October | 6:30 PM to 10:30 PM |
November to March | 6 PM to 10 PM |
In general, electricity rates are higher during peak hours, which are typically defined as the hours of highest demand, compared to off-peak hours. This increase is due to the fact that the heightened demand during peak hours strains the power grid, requiring the electric distribution company to generate or purchase additional electricity to meet the demand.
HESCO Management Information System
The HESCO MIS also known as the Management Information System, is a powerful portal specifically designed to efficiently manage a range of services, including employees, customers, and utilities such as HESCO bills online.
Its main objective is to enhance transparency within the Hyderabad Electric Supply Company. Through this MIS system, HESCO can effectively handle its customers and employees online, ultimately resulting in improved customer service quality.
Taxes in HESCO Bill
Here is a list of common taxes that you may come across in the HESCO online bill:
FPA (Fuel Price Adjustment)
FPA stands for Fuel Price Adjustment. This shows how fuel prices change for rental power companies that get their power from things like crude oil. This change in your bill is reflected in the FPA amount.
FC Surcharge (Financing Cost Surcharge)
This charge amounts to 43 Paisa per unit and is implemented to ensure the collection of debt servicing for Power Holding Private Limited.
TR Surcharge (Tariff Rationalization Surcharge)
This accounts for the tariff difference between NEPRA and GOP. In the case of a positive difference, it will be payable by the GOP as a “Subsidy.” However, if there is a negative difference, the Distribution Company will pay the GOP as an “Inter DISCO Tariff Rationalization Surcharge (IDTR SUR).”
QTR Tariff Adj / DMC
This represents the quarterly tariff adjustment amount. You may observe this charge in your bill every three months.
Deferred Amount
This refers to the bill amount that you have the option to pay in the same month or at a later date. There are no late payment charges for deferred bills, and the next bills may include this amount in installments or in full.
TV Fee
An additional amount of Rs.35 is included in your HESCO online bill to contribute to the funds for Pakistan Television (PTV).
GST
A General Sales Tax (GST) of 17% is added to your bill based on the cost of electricity.
Customer Complaint Management System
The Ministry of Energy has created an online platform called the Customer Complaint Management System (CCMS), which is accessible 24/7 for customer inquiries and complaints.
You can register a complaint, track its progress, verify your HESCO connection, and view the details of your feeder including its load-shedding schedule.
How to Check Load Shedding Schedule in CCMS
The unannounced electricity load-shedding is one of the major problems in Pakistan that affects work and causes people to suffer.
To manage this you can see the updated load-shedding schedule of your area feeder and grid station. You can use your HESCO bill’s 14-digit reference number to check this by using the CCMS system.
Register and Track Complaints
Now, you can register a complaint against HESCO at CCMS, and track the progress of your complaint. If you are interested in filing a complaint, you can follow these steps.
Generally, the complaint will be acknowledged within 24 hours and resolution takes around 14 days.
